Unboxing of Girls’ Generation 2014 Season’s Greeting – Calendar, Scheduler and DVD

One annual activity that fans do to prepare for the new year is to get themselves new calendars, and we are sure 2014 will not be different. Here at KAvenyou, we have gotten our hands on season’s greeting packages and calendars of various artists, and will be doing a series of unboxing specials to reveal what you are going to pay money for. For a start, we will kick things off with popular female group “Girls’ Generation (SNSD)”.

SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 098

One obvious difference this year is that calendars are no longer sold separately like they used to be available at Everysing. Everybody should be familiar with Season’s Greeting packages that usually includes calendar, scheduler, notepads and things along that line. As far as we are aware, calendars are sold as part of such packages this year for SM artistes and the Girls’ Generation version includes a desktop calendar (the larger wall calendar seemed to have been scrapped), a scheduler and a DVD.

The 2014 calendar photos seems to be a much simpler affair as compared to previous years. If you are looking for fanciful themes like 2013’s glamour and classic looks or 2012’s young and character-filled images, you may be slightly more disappointed. The girls have obviously grown up, and there is no running away from the transition to become more charismatic young women. If IU is already a young woman in her comeback, why would Girls’ Generation be any different?

SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 062 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Tiffany SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Tiffany SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Yuri SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Yuri SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Sooyoung SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Sooyoung SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 069 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 070

The outfits focuses a lot on simple black and white tones with a few exceptions. The photos looks a lot like what you will see in fashion magazines, but definitely brings out the young women feel. The knitted wear also reminds you that the cold winter is still ongoing. The beginning of the year sees Tiffany, Yuri and Sooyoung filling up your otherwise dull-looking desks.

SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Yoona SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Yoona SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Seohyun SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Seohyun SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Taeyeon SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- Taeyeon SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 077 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 078

The Spring season is covered by Yoona, Seohyun and Taeyeon, and clearly Taeyeon’s floral top reminds you of spring/summer collections?

The Ice Princess Jessica, Sunny and Hyoyeon shows you how to look cool for the Autumn and Winter season for 2014.

Apart from the calendar, which we think is the key reason why anyone would part with their cash for, below are some shots of the scheduler, which essentially uses the same photos as what is already in the calendar. The scheduler has a monthly and weekly planning section, and a section for notes at the end. Otherwise, it is really no different from any other organisers or schedulers out in the market.

SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 087 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 088 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 089 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 090 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 091 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 092 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 093 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 094 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 095 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 096 SNSD-Seasons-Greetings-Calendar-2014- 097

As for the DVD, it will probably make more sense for you to go grab a copy and take a look. The Season’s Greeting package seems to be selling extremely well and each box will set you back by 35,000 Korean Won or thereabouts.

Hope you liked our unboxing special to start 2014, and more to come…

Girls’ Generation 2015 Season’s Greetings – Calendar, Scheduler, DVD and Mini Calendar

girls-generation-seasons-greeting-2015-01

It is the time of the year where we fans get our hands ready to unbox those season’s greetings boxes, and savour those beautiful pictorials that will accompany us through the months of the year to come. KAvenyou is no different and we will be unboxing some of those for you. For a start, we will kick things off with popular female group “Girls’ Generation (SNSD)”.

It has been a turbulent year for SONEs in 2014 with the news of Sooyoung and Yoona dating breaking out in the first days of the year. Little would SONEs also expect that “Mr. Mr.” being the last album of the girls as a group of 8, having Jessica leaving the group towards the end of the year. However, it has also been a year where fans can really see the girls growing up with the myriad of individual activities, or is that a sign of preparation for the longer term future?

Going into the unboxing, the main highlight of this year (apart from the missing Jessica) is the new mini calendar in the size of normal photo cards found in albums. These cards makes great additions to the package as they can be easily slotted into the wallet. I personally doubt the practicality of these as a calendar, but more for the beautiful photo addition to my wallet. How many of you actually still use pocket calendars when you have your mobile phones with you? Duh….

girls-generation-seasons-greeting-2015-mini-calendar-01

girls-generation-seasons-greeting-2015-mini-calendar-02

Apart from the above-mentioned addition, there is not much to comment on the value-for-money aspect of this bundle. It was never about value-for-money, but rather our love and support for the group. The photos this year looks brighter, and the girls look more like your approachable girl-next-door. I personally preferred this concept as compared to the “cooler” and more professional looking studio shots of 2014.

We will cut short on the narratives, and let you have some sneaks into the box.

11 March 2015, SEPANG, Malaysia – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) today announced that one of South Korea’s hottest pop groups, Girls’ Generation will be performing at the post-race concert for the 2015 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix™ on 29 March 2015. This follows the announcement by American rocker Lenny Kravitz who recently cancelled his tour in Asia, including the scheduled performance in Sepang. The concert, to be held at the Helipad in the Sepang Circuit has also been brought forward to an earlier time slot. Gates will now open at 4.30pm, with the main act set to perform at 5.30pm and concert ending at 8.00pm.

“We are very pleased to secure an act like Girls’ Generation for the concert, following our recent disappointment. Indeed, we are still working on securing another world-class performer for the concert, but we just had to share the good news on Girls’ Generation as soon as possible. Having this hugely popular group performing right here in Sepang makes the post-race concert a very special occasion, so we hope their fans will take the opportunity to see them, from only RM80 onwards, besides also watching the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix. With their large fan base here in Malaysia and wide appeal – from youths to families of all ages, it is good for us to create opportunities to introduce the experience of watching the F1 race live to these fans that may not have been to a race weekend at Sepang.,”said Dato’ Razlan Razali, CEO of Sepang International Circuit.

“On behalf of the SIC team, I thank the relevant authorities including the Central Agency for Foreign Artists’ Filming and Performance Application (PUSPAL) for their support in accepting and processing all the required documentation and paperwork for the replacement artistes. We have worked hard to secure the artistes but it is the support from these authorities that will make the post-race concert possible,” added Dato’ Razlan.

Girls’ Generation is an 8-member girl group created by SM Entertainment, a prominent South Korean entertainment company. This popular group debuted in 2007 and became one of South Korea’s most popular musical acts after the success of their 2009 song, “Gee”. Their popularity transcends borders – proven by their large international fan base comprising men and women from various cultures.

Tickets purchased for the Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix allow ticketholders entrance to the after-race concert plus the F1 Carnival and other selected activities at no extra cost, besides also rewarding them with One Ticket Unlimited benefits, including discounts and promotions from various retail outlets and brands in Kuala Lumpur.

Ticket prices begin from RM80 – with tickets ranging from RM340 to RM1,770 for seats in the Main Grandstand, RM440 for the Tower, RM280 to RM660 for Grandstands F and K1, and RM80 to RM160 for Hillstand tickets.

The F1 tickets can be purchased:

• online at SIC’s website
• at the Sepang International Circuit ticket booth on the Ground Floor of the NU Sentral mall in the KL Sentral area
• from a ticket agent –  http://www.sepangcircuit.com/Ticketing-@-Overview.aspx

Influence_Asia_2015

Gushcloud, a Singapore-based influencer marketing network and marketing agency, announced that it has added two new artistes to its star-studded line up for Influence Asia 2015, Asia’s largest social media awards show.

American rapper, dancer, record producer, DJ and singer Stefan Kendal Gordy, better known by his stage name Redfoo, will be flying to Singapore to present awards at the show on 7 December 2015. Redfoo is half of electronic dance music duo LMFAO, known for his hit singles ‘New Thang’ and ‘Let’s Get Ridiculous’.

Joining him is KPOP singer and actress Stefanie Young Hwang, known professionally as Tiffany or Tiffany Hwang, from South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation and its sub-group TaeTiSeo (TTS). Tiffany, along with TTS members Taeyeon and Seohyun, will release their comeback album in the first week of December.

Influence Asia 2015, produced by Gushcloud, and hosted by South Korea’s Yello Digital Marketing (YDM) Group, one of the largest and fastest-growing digital marketing groups in Asia, will see more than 180 leading social media influencers from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines compete for top awards.

Redfoo and Tiffany will join Korean pop star Jay Park, the adorable four year old baby Yebin, best known for her Stranger Danger video with more than 14 million views on YouTube, and editors of American news platform Elite Daily, to present awards to the top influencers in the region.

Amongst the nominated finalists are Thai host and model TubTim, Malaysia’s singing sensation Elizabeth Tan, Miss Indonesia Putri Anindya, and Philippines’ fashion blogger Laureen Uy, who will be flying in for the event. Singaporean influencers such as Narelle and Benjamin Kheng from The Sam Willows, food bloggers Seth Lui and Daniel Food Diary, and YouTubers Night Owl Cinematics have also been nominated.

Mr Vincent Ha, Gushcloud Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, said: “We are glad that Redfoo and Tiffany are able to join us at the show to celebrate the achievements of the top social media influencers in the region. We cannot wait to unveil the list of trend setters and opinion leaders who have taken the Internet by storm.”

Mr Sang Seok Lee, CEO of YDM Group said: “Influencers who produce high quality creative contents will play an even more important role in leading the digital content marketing scene. Influence Asia 2015 will be the great chance for influencers in Asia to network and celebrate its glory moments together.”

The influencer marketing industry in Asia is fast growing, with Asia-Pacific expected to surpass North America in total digital ad spending share worldwide by 2017, according to eMarketer, a New York-based research firm.

Reflecting the growth trends, a recent survey by CMO Council, a global network of Chief Marketing Officers, found that 63% of Asia Pacific companies are planning to increase investment in content marketing, and 62% in mobile marketing.

Asians are among the most broadband-penetrated people in the world, with 60% of Malaysians and 69% of Singaporeans connected with brands on a social media site. 100% of Indonesians Internet users also have Internet access through a mobile device.

Influence Asia 2015 will also see performances by Raisa, Indonesia’s most popular songstress with more than six million Instagram followers, Joe Flizzow & SonaOne, Malaysia’s award winning hip-hop artistes, Thailand’s top hip-hop rapper Dandee, and Singapore’s Shigga Shay with the Grizzle Grind Crew, and Gareth Fernandez.

The show will be hosted by Sheikh Haikel, Singapore’s godfather of hip-hop, and Canadian comedic blogger and YouTube personality Peter Chao, known for his unconventional portrayals of Asian stereotypes, alongside other politically incorrect videos, with more than 860,000 subscribers on his platform.

NOMINEE SELECTION & JUDGING PROCESS

Influence Asia 2015 has partnered with social media experts from all five countries to curate the top 15 nominees in the nine categories from each country. The curating was done based on the influencer’s Reach (number of unique visitors, followers, subscribers), Engagement (number of likes, comments, shares), and average number of Brand Endorsements.

Following the curating of the top 15, all judges of each country then gathered together to further narrow down the list to top 8, and then to top 4. After a thorough judging process, the top 4 influencers in each category from the five countries are chosen to attend Influence Asia 2015 in Singapore, where they will have a secret vote amongst themselves to decide on the overall winner in the nine categories, and the Influencer of the Year.

Judges include representatives from government bodies, regional brands, creative agencies, and digital platforms, such as the National Youth Council in Singapore, Unilever in Indonesia, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in the Philippines, Samsung Malaysia, and Leo Burnett Thailand.

Full list of judges can be found here: http://influence-asia.com/judging

Mr Ng Siang Hang, spokesperson of Influence Asia 2015, commented on the judging process: “As each country in the region has significantly different audience size, trends and preferences, nominees are selected and judged alongside others from their own country, rather than across borders.”

INFLUENCE ASIA COUNCIL

The Influence Asia Council is built to govern the nominations and judging processes of Influence Asia Awards. The Council is built through a by-invite only membership and consists of members from advisory panel, yearly judging panel, and winners of each category in their countries. The Council aims to be transparent, objective and fair in choosing the nominees and will grow in size every year.

[Beauty Talk Tuesday] Recreate Taeyeon’s & Red Velvet’s looks with Hangover Makeup

As of lately we have been seeing lots of Korean inspired make up in Singapore – simple eye line (perhaps mascara too) and a bright lip. However, this is what’s trending in Korea in the past few months!

It’s none other than Hangover Makeup (Igari Makeup or aka 숙취화장). It is called Igari makeup because this was made popular by Igari Shinobu, a makeup artist for fashion models and actresses in Japan.

This look is simple, gives an innocent and young impression and is suitable for your everyday look. Its main emphasis is strong cheek and lip colours.

If you have noticed, 3CE has used this look in a lot of their makeup model shots. Have you spotted it anywhere else?

Well, the hangover makeup look has been around for quite some time but the trend is coming back this year. We secretly think it is because this look has been spotted in the K-Pop scene.
